Woodstock is a 31 unit rooming house constructed in the air space above a 22 space Council car park. Woodstock comprises 15 traditional rooming house rooms with shared communal facilities, 15 self-contained studios (two of which are disability modified) and a one bedroom unit for a disabled person.
The external design reflects the streetscape transition from commercial use in Woodstock Street to domestic use in Marlborough Street.
Winner of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Award for Residential Architecture (Multiple Housing) 2007 and the RAIA Award for Interior Architecture 2007.
Winner (in combination with the Balaclava Walk/Station design) of the 2006 Australia Award for Urban Design from the Planning Institute Australia.
